This course covers the practical requirements to thoroughly examine and performance test manual chain hoists as detailed in SANS 500.

Advanced Lifting Tackle Inspections & Performance Test

This course covers the detailed requirements to thoroughly inspect and certify commonly used lifting tackle as detailed in SANS 2972.

LMI Training

LMI Mentoring Session – S1: ECSA Application

During this session you will be taken through the ECSA application process and what you need to do to register as a Lifting Machinery Inspector (LMI). You will be assisted in identifying any qualification gaps and/or other specific training needs when measured against the outcomes of the LMI Unit Standard (SAQA 58496). Completion of S1 will prepare the candidate to register with ECSA as a LMI.

Duration: 2 days

LMI Mentoring Session - S2: Practical

This session will give you the opportunity to gain practical experience by doing inspections and carrying out performance tests under the supervision of a registered LMI. Completion of S2 will prepare the candidate to register with ECSA as a LMI.

Socketing Operator

Learn how to select the appropriate wire rope and how to correctly handle, coil, cut and terminate the rope in accordance with SANS 53411. You will also learn how to correctly fit a socket using resin or white metal.

Duration: 3 days

Splicing Operator

Learn how to select the appropriate rope and how to correctly handle, coil, cut and terminate the rope in accordance with SANS 53411. You will also learn how to mechanically and hand splice the sling eye.

Duration: 3 days
